Novik, Dor

Dor, son of Smadar and Tal Novik, was born in Givatayim in 1992. From the age of sixteen, he often worked to improve his physical fitness for recruitment. Among other things, he conducted guided tours and joined the combat fitness department at the Yuval Eilam educational center. Dor enlisted in the IDF and joined the Combat Engineering Corps, completed his basic training as an outstanding trainee and reached the Lahav Battalion 603. Dor stood out as a soldier and as an outstanding commander, leading and setting a personal example. He was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant. Dor fell in the line of duty on 8 Sivan, 16.5.2013. He was twenty-one years old. Dor was laid to rest in the Masad cemetery in the Lower Galilee, where the family lived. Dor left his parents and two sisters.
