Niv, (Robinowitz) Eyal
Son of Matityahu and Nitza. Born in Tel Aviv on June 6, 1959. He was drafted into the IDF in early November 1977 and assigned to the Armored Corps. After completing basic training he was sent to the Armored Corps School, where he underwent various courses that trained him to be a tank fighter. He was then sent to a tank commanders course. At the end of the course he was awarded the rank of sergeant and he was assigned to a unit in the north of the country as an operations sergeant. In his new unit, he quickly became fond of the soldiers and commanders, and they soon learned to appreciate his good qualities and dedication and responsibility in carrying out his tasks. Eyal was considered a good and obedient soldier, a devoted and considerate friend and a decent, reasonable and friendly man. On the 14th of Kislev 5739 (December 14, 1978) Eyal fell in the line of duty. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by his parents and sister.
