Nissim, Yehezkel


Yehezkel, son of Juliet and Azouri, was born on 25.11.1951 in Kiryat Malachi Yehezkel was drafted into the IDF at the end of November 1970 and assigned to the Artillery Corps, where he completed his training course and was certified as a 160 mm mortar. After his father died, Yehezkel was forced to request an early release from military service to take care of his younger brother. His request was accepted. After being discharged from regular service and assigned to a heavy mortar unit, he married a wife and continued to work as a scribe. He worked hard to cover his debts and make a living. His brother lived with him and his wife in their home, and Ezekiel continued to treat him with devotion. When the Yom Kippur War broke out he was drafted with his unit and sent to the Sinai front, where he took part in the difficult battles against the Egyptians. On October 12, 1973, Yechezkel was hit and killed in an enemy attack in the Tasa area, on the “Spider” axis. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Kfar Warburg. Survived by a wife and son (born six months after his death), two brothers and a sister. After his fall, he was promoted to corporal.
