Nissan (Sasson), Eleanor

The daughter of Hanoch and Ora Sasson. She was born on 24.11.1957 in Haifa and began her studies at the Kishon Elementary School, after which she continued her studies at Bialik Elementary School and the WIZO High School in Haifa. She completed the preparation for the matriculation exams in the framework of the Mishlav School and completed them successfully. Eleanor was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in February 1976 and was assigned to the Intelligence Corps. After basic training, she completed a driving course and was sent to a unit in central Israel as a driver. She was well absorbed in the life of the unit and liked everyone around her. A few months later she married Shlomo Nissan and they planned to build a home in Israel. On the 10th of Kislev 5737 (1 December 1976), one day after her marriage Eleanor fell during her service and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa
