Son of Shabtai and Batya. He was born on 14.1.1953 in Moshav Regeva. He studied at the Bergba School and at the Yad Natan Regional High School near Acre and completed 12th grade, he was a healthy, strong and strong boy in his mind and actions, and was an inexhaustible entrepreneur in countless fields of activity. Gifted and outstanding member of the Israeli volleyball team, member of a sailing team and member of the Gadna Rifle Club. He did not miss a sporting event such as competitions, camps and summer camps. In addition, he was one of the main activists of the moshav’s youth movement. Like other children in the moshav, Yossi also worked in the various branches of the agriculture, mainly in the work of the shulchan. Even then, the qualities that characterized him in his short life were discovered: perseverance, stubbornness and a desire to learn and succeed in everything. He was drafted into the IDF in early August 1971. His ambition was to go to a pilot’s course, but he chose to serve in one of the elite paratroopers, but despite the many difficulties and effort involved in serving in this unit, , Was able to withstand the pressure and not lose his personality for a moment, and was sent to a paramedics’ course and became one of the best medics in his unit … Is, among other things, a standard for an excellent medic. He is a good soldier, but he can not be compared to Yossi Nir. “He served in the army for only a year, but despite the short time he managed to prove his ability and excel in willpower, stubbornness and perseverance. His friends testified that he had all the qualities that enabled the commander to rely on him: “When Yossi received a mission, he performed uncompromisingly, flawlessly.” On November 10, 1972, he fell while carrying out his duties. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Regba. The commander of the unit wrote in a letter of condolence to the parents: “It was only a little more than a year that Yossi managed to go with us, and we found him not only an outstanding and promising soldier but also a devoted and loyal friend. His family published a booklet in his memory bearing the name “Yossi”.
