Nidam, Nissim
Son of Moshe and Hasiba. He was born on October 22, 1956 in Casablanca, Morocco. The family immigrated to Israel in 1961 and settled in Dimona. Here the head of the family found his livelihood, which enabled his children to receive secondary education. Nissim first studied at Yoseftal Elementary School in Dimona, and completed his studies at the Lehman Comprehensive High School. As a special internship, he chose the mechanical-frame profession. Nissim, the eldest son of the family, was a diligent student who received excellent grades and praise from his teachers and teachers. He was also awarded various prizes for his academic achievements. He was also fond of his classmates, and helped them as much as he was asked. At home they loved him, and Nissim gave his family love and devotion. More than anything, he owed his affection to his grandmother, who raised him as a child, educated him, and taught him moral ways and a good way of life. During his spare time, Nissim enjoyed various woodwork. He was also a stamp collector, and he was left with several albums full of stamps. At the beginning of November 1974, he was drafted into the IDF and assigned to the Armament Corps, where he was given the opportunity to utilize the technical information he acquired in high school. Everything he did in the army did to the satisfaction of his superiors. But his service did not take long. On the 17th of Elul 5735 (August 17, 1975), he fell to the military cemetery in Dimona, leaving behind his parents and five brothers. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved parents, his commander wrote: “Six months ago, Nissim came to us, a quiet and pleasant young man. Indeed, within a short period of time we learned about his good qualities: tolerance, diligence, and exemplary discipline. He worked quickly and was very successful. The character of Corporal Nissim will not be forgotten forever. ” His parents commemorated him by donating a Torah scroll in his name.
