Niagi, Reuven
Son of Yehuda and Soltana. Born in 1944 in Teheran, Iran, where he attended elementary school. When he was 14, he immigrated to Israel as part of Youth Aliyah. He studied for two years at the Neurim Institute near Kfar Vitkin and continued at the Philadelphia vocational school in Acre. For a short time he was a member of the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed movement. Reuven was drafted into the IDF at the end of March 1965. After serving for a short time in the Military Police, he was transferred to the Supply Corps as a driver and served with loyalty and devotion and was loved by all his friends. Reuven worked very hard and always worried about how to make life easier for his family, and so he worked in the building (at the Solel Boneh company) and at night and even on Saturday nights worked in a cafe to earn a few more pounds to give his beloved family a better life He was called to reserve duty every year and never complained or tried to avoid it. During his service and was put to rest at the cemetery in Yavneh. Left wife and daughter. His commander wrote in a letter of condolence to the widow: “Reuven, who left his friends in the spring of his life, was loved and loved by them.” Reuven was a disciplined soldier and a good friend of all – he loved army life and the army loved Reuven.
