Nguaker, Benjamin

Benjamin, son of Miriam and Daniel, was born on May 4, 1943 in India. He completed elementary school in Bombay, India, and then went on to study there for another two years in high school. He then took a professional course for clerks and acquired a profession. In early 1970 he decided to immigrate to Israel and join his family, who were already in Israel. When he arrived in Israel he was sent to Kibbutz Negba. Where he studied Hebrew in a local ulpan. Sometimes he was called for periods of reserve service and always fulfilled his duty faithfully like any other citizen. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, Binyamin was drafted and sent with his unit to the Golan Heights. He took part in the fierce battles and incursions against the Syrians. As part of his job, Benjamin did a great deal to stop the enemy’s offensive and push it. The artillery battery, which was part of her team, worked tirelessly and Benjamin contributed his energies and forces to its operation under the harsh conditions of shelling and incessant movement.
