Nevel, David (“Jerzy”)

Son of Hugo and Frida. He was born on September 9, 1935 in Nikolai, Poland. When he was four years old, the Second World War broke out and the family was forced to go abroad. the family immigrated to Israel in 1945. After graduating – The elementary school in Kiryat Bialik moved to the Kiryat Haim high school but did not finish without two classes. When he was 17, he volunteered for the air force and devoted himself to the squadrons with all his might. Most of his leisure time was devoted to studies and mainly to the aviation profession and everything related to it. In the last year of his life, he began preparing for matriculation exams. When he finished his army service he could not disengage from his beloved pilot and decided to remain in the permanent army. The Negev was his favorite and he chose to sit there. On the 23rd of Adar 5707 (6.3.1956) he fell while fulfilling his duties and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
