Neumann, Isaiah-Isaac


Son of Zlata (Lotti) and Matityahu, was born on January 1, 1515, in the city of Gora Humorului, Romania. He attended elementary and high school, and in a high school for commerce. During the Holocaust he was not touched by evil, he continued to study, and even began to work as a bookkeeper, but he came to the clear recognition that his place in the country. Yeshayahu immigrated to Eretz Israel on October 22, 1946 after the end of the war. He joined the Poalei Agudat Israel in Rishon Letzion, worked in the orchard and was often unemployed. His parents remained in Romania. He joined the War of Independence with enthusiasm, served in the Golani Brigade and fought in the Emek Hayarden area. Isaiah fell on the 28th of Iyar 5708 (June 6, 1948) in Tzemach and was buried in Tiberias. On the 16th of Sivan 5706 (June 1, 1950) he was transferred to the eternal rest of the military cemetery in Haifa.
