Netanel, Yosef
Yosef, son of Hanna and Rafael Netanel, was born in 1913 in Jerusalem. He was orphaned as a child and raised in an orphanage. In 1932, Yosef married and the couple had five children. During the Second World War and onward, he worked as a top-ranking professional in the British Air Force and was an active member of the Haganah. During the War of Independence, Yosef served in the IDF and was killed while guarding an arms and ammunition depot in Jerusalem on the 6th of Tamuz (13.7.1948). He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
