In Uzbekistan, the Soviet Union After the liberation of Latvia from the burden of the Nazis, the family returned to Riga, the capital of Latvia, where Simon attended elementary school and high school He was a member of the Latvia team in table tennis and participated in many championships, he loved music and listened to classical music, and was very popular with his friends, His parents were Jewish and non-Jewish alike, and Shimon was drafted into the Russian army and served in the infantry for three years A request to emigrate to Israel and to her surprise quickly received a positive answer, and that same year, in 1971, the family immigrated to Israel and settled in Haifa. Shimon studied at the Hebrew ulpan at Kibbutz Mesilot and began working as a refrigeration technician at Ampa. In Israel, he continued to play tennis-table tennis and was a coach-tennis player of the Technion in Haifa. Shimon was drafted into the IDF at the end of December 1972. Since his military service in the Russian army was recognized as a military service in every respect, Shimon underwent basic training and was immediately transferred to reserve duty. He participated in the Yom Kippur War and every year served in a reserve service unit together with his comrades in arms. In 1974 he married his girlfriend Sonia. He was a loving and faithful husband. A devoted son looking after his widowed mother. At the end of November 1975, he was called to active reserve duty and at the end of the day, on December 3, 1975, he fell in the line of duty. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. Survived by a wife, mother, brother and sister.
