Son of Nora and Shimshon. He was born on the 16th of Heshvan 5706 (16.11.1969) in the city of Bombay in India, the seat of the Bnei Yisrael congregation, and when he was just six months old his family immigrated to Israel and settled in Or Akiva, where he grew up and was educated. He joined the Hanoar Haoved movement, participated in activities and trips, and was also a member of a neighborhood youth group that organized sports competitions, quizzes and parties. A lot of sports, especially football and rugby, he listened to various types of music, from oriental rhythms and modern pop to Western music of the 6 th century The Beatles, Cliff Richard, etc. His family maintained a traditional character and from a young age accompanied his friends to prayers in the local synagogue of the community, and after that he worked in the Hogla factory in Herzlia. At the end of February 1988, Yaakov was drafted into the IDF and after the basic training period he was sent to a course in the Ordnance Corps and was trained as five turrets. After completing the course he was assigned to an artillery battalion in the Golan Heights. On August 16, 1988, Yaakov was killed while on a field trip when he had to cross a pool of water while crossing the pool, nature and all efforts to save him, The cemetery in Or Akiva left behind his parents and three brothers – son of-Zion, Meir and Noah – in a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Yaakov was a model soldier. He was willing to help at any time, disciplined, with a strong desire to succeed and advance. His death shocked us all. I express deep sorrow on behalf of all the soldiers of the unit. “
