Nechmad, David
Son of Victoria and Aaron. He was born on November 13, 1955, in Venezuela. His grandfather was a resident of Palestine, who later settled in Venezuela and established a family there. From his youth David was educated to love the State of Israel. In Caracas he completed high school, and began to study electrical engineering. In 1977 David immigrated to Israel and joined Kibbutz Nirim in the Negev. David completed his studies as an electrical engineer at the Hebrew Technion in Haifa. In January 1978 he enlisted in the IDF as a paratroop unit. David was sent to a squad commanders’ course, underwent paratrooper training and was promoted to Corporal. On the afternoon of 16 Nissan 5740 (2.4.1980), while he was on vacation in his kibbutz, David fell. He was 25 years old. David was laid to rest on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. He left behind in Venezuela parents, four sisters and a brother.
