Nazri, Joseph
Born in 1899 in Jerusalem, where he completed elementary school. Joseph worked in every job he had and supported his wife and five children. As a veteran Haganah member, he served as a guard in Jerusalem from 1939 onwards, and recently guarded the National Institutions. He liked his many friends in his simplicity and acquired their trust in his devotion and loyalty to the Hagana. He was disciplined and always answered. Yosef completed a squad commanders’ course and was appointed commander in his area. Joseph fell on guard during the explosion when a car loaded with explosives was ingeniously inserted into the courtyard of the National Institutions in Jerusalem on March 11, 1948. He was buried in Sanhedria on April 24, 1952, He was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
