Natsumi, Dotan-Ya’akov

Ben Hannah and Moti. He was born on Simchat Torah on the 12th of Tishrei 5713 (October 13, 1979) at the Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva. Brother to Moran. When he was nine months old, he and his family came to Kibbutz Tzuba, where he grew up and was educated. Like everyone else in the kibbutz, Dotan went through the familiar route of the children’s home – partly in a shared dormitory, in the Kalanit kindergarten, in the elementary school in Tzuba, and later in the Hartuv regional school on Kibbutz Tzora. He completed his studies at the Brenner regional high school on Kibbutz Givat Brenner. Dotan was a prominent figure among the youth in the kibbutz and the surrounding area. He played basketball in the Mateh Yehuda team, but is mostly remembered as a parachutist. After a paragliding course he purchased a parachute and parachuted every Saturday in the north of the country. He read a lot of prose, poetry and science fiction, and later, even when he served as an officer, he did not give up the joy of reading: he would go with a book in his pocket and use every moment for quick reading. He even wrote a hand, and initiated a personal diary with a friend from school. In October 1996 he wrote the list “Our Place in History”: “Rabin was murdered, there were attacks, Peres led, Bibi Figger, Shimon Peres lost, Bibi won, Oslo and Novell.) Clinton vs. Doll – One hope is the fear of death of the other – a Sunday of rain – enough to bum on the road, on the horizon of 2000 you see lightning before thunder, a short history of time (not Stephen Hawking) From November 4, 1995 until October 14, 1996. Good night. ” Dotan belonged to the Mahanot Ha’olim movement and chose to go out before his military service for a year of service that is entirely a contribution to the community. At the end of August 1997, he arrived at the Beit LeBron Community Center in the sixth district of Ashdod, with high aspirations and many dilemmas – from what to begin, what to contribute to, and from the second to twelfth grades. One of the projects he undertook was to prepare three Ethiopian students for the matriculation exams in physics and mathematics at the level of five units of study. On his head “brought his students to success in the exams Dotan was only eighteen, but showed initiative, origin Planning and logistics, execution ability, excellent interpersonal relations and above all responsibility – among other projects he was involved in the Community Center, he accompanied the Dilema Theater – a theater of youth from the former Soviet Union, They were busy with running and running out of energy, organized a summer camp for the children of the community center and initiated a screening of films on the walls of houses in the neighborhood. In the evenings he went out with the children and the madatzim to the public gardens – “so that we would be there, and not other types.” Dotan was also active in informal education in Ashdod, and one of the most significant projects he initiated and built was Adloyada Despite his intensive and intensive work at the community center and in schools, Dotan did not give up volunteering in the youth movement, and served as head of the national team of the Mahanot Ha’olim – Team 9. He convened meetings, led a national educational process, and headed a team entirely composed of his contemporaries. He also guided the national team of Y., as part of seminars throughout the year, and of course accompanied tours. In the camp he helped as much as he could – from preparing fire addresses and raising the holiday of the movement, by passing a seminar on Sadeh resources, mobilizing in schools and just moral support … Dotan, who also served as treasurer of the commune, decided that at the end of the yearThe group will travel to Cyprus. He had put the Commune into a thrifty regime, and it was thanks to him that the trip had come to fruition. Dotan liked to solve his dilemmas with himself and never burdened his difficulties with others. His thoughts and reflections were written down in the notebook of the commune “Key of the Heart”. “I’ve never been led, this is the first time I’ve ever been given a chance to lead, maybe because I’m new to a difficult subject, maybe I’m not meant for it, a big turnaround in life, setting goals and staying behind all the time – now is the time when I know what’s best. For me, to continue a year, to continue to try to lead, not to get out of trouble, despite everything, to continue the struggle. ” One day he wrote: “Thought: Would not it be enough to educate us to be responsible for each other without the need to live in the framework of a group that is actually an organic body? The main role of education is to direct people to a state where they are aware of the existence of other people, The second stage should show that the group can progress better to find solutions, but the group should not be binding or not. On November 3, 1997, Richard Adams quoted Richard Adams as saying: “You have nothing to put you in your proper place, as if you are coming into a strange and wondrous place where no one is bothering to stop and notice your great wonder around you.” “Some say that the most important thing is not the value or goal they choose, but the willingness to choose to enlist for the cause, but if every choice is good, there is no choice, the world will be like a special target board, To the stamp, because every place is the middle of the stamp. ” On December 14, 1997, he wrote: “In front of the people I love the most, I do not need to erect walls … The people I love most know me best, and what happens is that the people I hurt the most are the people I love because because of them, The spirit that is given, and if it is not good … excuse me. ” At the end of his service, Dotan returned to Kibbutz Tzuba, where he worked, and in November 1998 he enlisted in the IDF as part of the Nahal Brigade company. He wrote about this during the service year: “Something that has been bothering me lately: always when I am asked where I am enlisting, I say to the Nahal settlers. I always feel that I have to apologize – ‘Ah, Nahal,’ they always say – and forget, or simply do not know, that thirty-four Nahalim were killed in the helicopter disaster and that they were not exactly on the way to picking tomatoes in the grip. It makes me angry.” Dotan went on a course for squad commanders and then for an officers’ course, which at the end served as a platoon commander in the auxiliary company of the 50th Battalion. Later he was appointed deputy commander, and he was very proud of it. Dina said of Dotan of the army: “A tough officer – planned, calculated, with high demands – makes no concessions, neither to himself nor to his subordinates. Neat, knew exactly how much ammunition there was and what it was for. Capable of providing military solutions in the field. There was no detail missing from his eyes, taking care of small and large. The guys say, ‘If you go to battle – then with him.’ “During Operation Defensive Shield, on the morning of April 9, 2002, Dotan’s unit raided the village of Dura in the southern Hebron hills in order to arrest wanted persons in action Datan led the force to the compound of the Palestinian “Force 17.” A fire that opened from one of the houses in the village seriously wounded Dotan, who was treated in the area by a military doctor andAnd then to Soroka Medical Center. For three days, the doctors struggled for his life, but his strength did not stand. On Friday, April 12, 2002, Dotan died of his wounds at the age of 22. One of the books found in his belongings was the “Chronicle of a Predetermined Death” by the author Gabrielle Garcia Marquez, Dotan’s great grandfather, Eliyahu Abushadid, And his son, were murdered in the riots in Hebron in 1929, and were buried in the Jewish cemetery in the city. Dotan’s fall at the same place closes a painful family circle. Dotan was laid to rest in the cemetery in his kibbutz. Survived by parents and sister. After his death, nephews Daniel and Jonathan were born. Dotan’s sister, Moran, produced a film about his life story. On the first anniversary of the fall, Kibbutz Tzuba published a booklet in memory of Dotan, which includes the words of friends and family. His friends wrote: “Dotan … It’s hard to know that you’re from everyone … He’s sleeping now, dreaming about the trip for me in Israel, or about climbing in Appalachia, maybe on the next studies at the Technion, at the Faculty of Aeronautics? This is how we will remember you, Dotan, hovering in the sky, tall, on the one hand a realistic, analytical, and “feet-on-the-ground” guy. On the other hand … so high in the air with the dreams, the aspirations, the innocent faith in the essence and nature of things … the desires and expectations of this life … … you are missing … and your spirit, good and calm and noble and gentle and peaceful spirit is missing. … and we try a little more to get some perfume from her … “Sleep, Dotan, sleep, there are no words any more.” Oshri wrote: “A whole year, 365 days, 24 hours a day, we were together, four guys who had been invited to be the commune of Ashdod, full of motivation and hesitation, we got to know each other and Dotan, “Dotan was always surprised by the determination to do things, and the words” impossible “did not exist in him … We learned from their measurements that everything is possible, it is only a matter of will, investment and dedication, and the sky is the limit. You.” Yonatan Ganot, Dotan’s best friend, wrote: “I go back in time, open up memory drawers that were locked in order to tell about who was and will always remain my best friend … I always loved and admired you and I say that I also envied you, And since then you have narrowed the gap and advanced me in most areas of life … and once again rummaging back in the special relationship I had with you, my best friend, always with me, beside me, good and bad, always precedes me, as in life. Wrote Oded, a member of the Shiller group: “Dotan’s friends – he’s a friend, a real friend, a special one, you can talk to him about everything without restraint, he knows how to listen, he cares about you … Sometimes he says things upside down in a hundred and eighty degrees – It’s fun to be with, it’s fun to have fun with him, to have fun with him, to have fun with him, to have fun and to talk about high-end issues, such as philosophical conversations, Dotan knew how to live, he lived, lived every moment, every minute, every second, whatever he wanted, did not hurry, took the time to do whatever he wanted. It is easy to enter the race, to try to get enough, to achieve goals, and not to live life, but to Dotan he did not rush to anything. not simple.” Dina wrote: “… Dotan knew what we did not know yetTwenty-two years old and knew the wisdom of life, that life has to live. We were left alone – alone to talk about you, to tell you, to observe, to listen, and perhaps to envy your wonderful abilities. And with your wisdom – who knows how to give life as well as take it from them. “On the background of a photograph of Dotan hovering with the parachute, his mother wrote:” A bird that sees / a beautiful bird / without a wing. / With a parachute canopy / blue violin / green foliage / brown earth / to embrace you wrapped / dream bird / peace victim? / Beautiful bird / it’s you!
