Natanialof, Tzvi Chai


Tzvi Chai, oldest son of Sarah and Cohen Natanialof, was born on February 9, 1925 in the city of Andijan, Bukhara, Russia. When he was 10, he immigrated to Israel with his parents, who worked hard to give their children the opportunity to learn. Tzvi Chai was forced to stop his studies after completing elementary school. He worked and with his salary, allowed his younger siblings to continue their studies. He was naturally a cheerful boy. Due to his intense national feeling, he was one of the first recruits at the beginning of the War of Independence. He did all his training at Tel Litvinsky (Tel Hashomer) and served in the Carmeli Brigade. He participated in many battles, including the conquest of the village of Tira near Haifa, and the battles of Acre and the Arab Sjara. Tzvi Chai was killed in battle in the Mishmar Hayarden area during Operation Brosh to destroy the Syrian bridgehead on the 9th of Tamuz, July 16, 1948 and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Rosh Pina.
