Nannikashvili, Shimon (Simon)


Son of from Russia and Misha. He was born on the 11th of Tevet 5719 (January 1, 1969) in the USSR. A second son of a three-boy family. In 1972, when Simon was three years old, his family immigrated to Israel and built their home in Acre. He studied at the son of Tzvi Elementary School and at the Darski High School. Simone was looking forward to enlisting in the IDF and always expressed his desire to serve in the combat force. He was assigned to the Golani infantry brigade and started basic training, and according to his commander, Simon was found to be a devoted friend, and his soldiers loved him and his commanders appreciated him for the friendship he had shown to everyone in the unit on March 3, 1987. Simon was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya. Survived by his parents, two brothers – Aharon and Yaakov.
