Nakar, Yissachar-Eliyahu-Tzvi (“Kushi”)


Yissachar-Eliyahu-Tzvi (“Kushi”) Nakar, son of Avraham and Serach, was born in 1927 in Haifa. He increased his activity in the underground and reached the rank of commander in the Irgun. During the War of Independence, he joined the IDF together with his comrades and participated in battles in Wadi Nisnas in Haifa, Ramle, Jenin, Tulkarm, and other activities. He was one of the most courageous among the volunteers to fulfill any role, was a man of action, and his family took pride in him. In the course of his duties, on the 26th of Kislev (25.12.1951), he fell and was laid to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. His parents donated a Torah scroll and paroches in his name and some of his family members changed their name to Tzivieli, after two of his first names – Zvi and Eli.
