Naji, Yaakov (Tzurani)


Son of Yaakov and Pircha. Born in 1933 in Basra, Iraq, he completed his studies at the “Kol Israel Haverim” school there, and immigrated to Israel in 1951. That year he was drafted into the IDF. Fell in the Sinai Campaign on the 27th of Mershvan 5711 (1/11/1956) in the battle that took place at the outskirts of El Arish. He was buried at the Military Emergency Cemetery in Bari and on 28 October 5757 he was transferred to the eternal military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
