Naji, Abraham

Born in 1932 in Iraq and immigrated to Israel in 1950. In Iraq, Abraham studied in a Talmud Torah. Avraham was drafted into the IDF in mid-February 1951 and served as a driver in an artillery unit, where he was married in mid-July 1953. He married his wife and the couple set up his home in Ramle. Where he served as a driver in artillery units and the IAF, including a truck driver and a driver dragging a cannon, his reserve service was flawless and he was awarded the rank of corporal. With his unit, Avraham successfully passed the Sinai Campaign, the Six-Day War and the Yom Kippur War, and was given the signals of the systems. On the 3 rd of Av 5742 (23.7.1982) Avraham fell while serving in the military cemetery in Ramle, leaving behind a wife, three daughters and three sons, and in his letter of condolence to the bereaved family, He was known as a quiet, modest and dedicated soldier. He never refused to carry out a task assigned to him “
