Nahshon, Shalom


Son of Yosef and Shulamit. He was born in 1937 in Yemen, where he studied at the Talmud Torah and immigrated to Israel in 1949. His family settled in Moshav Geulim. Where Shalom worked with his father in agriculture. Shalom was drafted into the IDF in 1955 and volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade, and in September 1956 he completed a parachute training course and was assigned to a paratroopers’ paratroopers. Shalom was married to Rachel and moved to the south of Moshav Hodaya, where he continued to work in agriculture and to serve in the reserves in paratroopers, armor and armament units, and Shalom, who was endowed with love and help for others, Mishan, Beit-Shikma, with its best skills and dedication to work, promoted the residents of the moshavim, He was appointed to the director of the slaughterhouse in Hod Oz in Kiryat Malachi until his last day, and on the 10th of Nissan 5739 (10.4.1979) Shalom fell in reserve duty during a reserve duty in a road accident on the Gaza- “In Nachshon’s letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote:” Nachshon was a relatively young man in the battalion and a relative of his age; Nevertheless, in a short period of time he succeeded in integrating nicely among the soldiers and became a personal example, dedication and loyalty in carrying out the job. In the days of reserve duty, Nachshon was one of the main soldiers for every mission, and despite his being a moshavnik, the reservists were more burdensome to him, there was hardly a complaint from him … “As a sign of appreciation and love for peace, At the Mishan Regional School in Moshav Mishan, called the “Peace Library.” His parents donated to the synagogue at Gaulim to commemorate the name of Nachshon Shalom.
