Naftali, Nissim (Levi)


Was born in Kaziantep, Turkey, and immigrated to Israel with his parents in 1934. He studied at the Bialik Elementary School in Tel Aviv and later worked in the factory for dental prostheses In Nahalat Yitzhak. At the beginning of the War of Independence Nissim stood among the first to serve the people. He served for three months in the battalion police in Tel Aviv and was transferred to Haifa for the Carmeli Brigade, and from there to service in the Upper Galilee. Nissim was killed during an air strike on an airfield near Rosh Pinna on the 4th of Tamunz, 10.7.1948 during the “Brosh” operation to destroy the Syrian bridgehead in the Mishmar Hayarden area. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Rosh Pina
