Nadav, Yosef
Son of Shoshana and Aharon was born on December 20, 1925, in Tel Aviv, and graduated with honors from the elementary school and from all fields of study: Nadav loved Engineering and Nature, and after two years of working as an electrician, he went to Kfar Yehoshua for agricultural work. In 1945, he participated with the scouts from Mishmar HaEmek in the transfer of immigrants from Syria and Lebanon, and in that year joined the Palmach in his activities in raising illegal immigrants near Nahariya. He joined training at Beit Hashita and Mishmar Ha’emek but had to return home and help his parents. With the outbreak of the War of Independence, he volunteered immediately and for a while was one of the bodyguards of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense David son of-Gurion. He then accompanied convoys on the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem line. From there he left with his group to defend Gush Etzion. Nadav was a machine gunner in the ward. He was wounded and recovered and remained with the others to defend gush Etzion and fell there with the fall of Kfar Etzion on the 4 th of Iyar 5708 (13.5.1948) On the 17th of Cheshvan 5710 (November 17, 1949) he was brought with the rest of the victims of the Gush to eternal rest In the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
