Nachum, Michael


Son of Shmuel and Yonah. He was born on May 9, 1952 in Tel Aviv. He studied at the Ahavat Zion Elementary School in Tel Aviv, continued at the New High School in the city and in 1969 graduated from the Municipal High School V, with the aim of bookkeeping. Michael was drafted into the IDF in July 1972. After basic training and after completing an accounting course, he was sent to the IDF’s Payments Department, where he served for two years. He was very successful in his work and was positively assessed by his commanders. Upon his release from the regular service, Michael began working as an accountant in Tel Aviv. Although he suffered from a disease, he did not give up his duty to serve in the reserves, and he succeeded in convincing those concerned that he could continue to serve and contribute to the state as little as possible. And indeed, despite his illness. He was drafted into reserve service. On February 10, 1976, Michael died at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, leaving his parents and sister behind.
