Nachshoni (Kleiderman), Gideon


Son of Yosef and Sarah. He was born on 27.11.1928 in Afula. Gideon finished elementary and high school in Kiryat Haim. Found his living in the Solel Boneh in Haifa Bay. He was drafted into the IDF in October 1948. He was in the Palmach and participated in the War of Independence and even in the Sinai Campaign. From time to time he went to reserve duty and at the outbreak of the Six-Day War he was called back to the flag and served as a jeep driver in the battalion reconnaissance unit. While the Jordan border crossing and the entrance to Kfar Dan were under mortar and anti-tank fire, Gideon’s jeep was hit directly by a mortar shell, and Gideon fell on the first day of the fighting. 1967), he left a wife and two sons, was buried in the cemetery in Afula, and was later transferred to the eternal rest of the military cemetery in Haifa.
