After completing his fifth class, he began working as an assistant clerk at the Anglo-Palestine Bank and supported his parents, and at the bank he worked for a full year and then began studying at the Safra School in Tel Aviv, where his teachers excelled in intellect and dynamism, He was a devoted instructor at the “Bnei Akiva” branch in Ramat Gan and Givatayim and a member of the religious sports organization “Elitzur.” At the age of 15, he joined Gadna. In the winter of 1947, he volunteered to go to Birya’s aid and decided to go to the “Bnei Akiva” settlement. With the outbreak of the War of Independence, he maintained the boundaries of Tel Hai (near the Givat Rambam neighborhood, where he lived) and joined the army in early July 1948, before joining the Palmach and served in the Yiftah Brigade. On the night of July 17-18, 1948, towards the beginning of the second truce, the “Haemek” Battalion seized Shilat and took control of the eastern part of the Korikor ridge in order to threaten the wing of the legion in Latrun. In the morning it became clear that the Legion force was holding the western part of the ridge. The enemy attacked the force in the outpost from two directions with the aid of armored vehicles, and that was forced to withdraw. In the harsh retreat in an open area under crossfire, many of the fighters fell. In this battle he fell, on his first activity, on the 11th of Tammuz 5708 (18.7.1948). On the 11th of Adar 5702 (28.2.1950) he was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
