Nachmias, Avraham (“Chopchik”)
Son of Yaakov and Chana. He was born on March 18, 1924 in Jerusalem. From his childhood he was very active in the ranks of the Haganah. He worked as a laborer and even as a clerk. He loved music and sang in the choir. Served as a police officer in the Hebrew settlement police. He took part in the War of Independence and, at the beginning, during one of the defensive operations near Jerusalem, was seriously injured. Since his injury, he was usually confined to his bed in a military hospital, and finally, on 9 May 1950, he died of his wounds and was brought to rest in the Nachlat Yitzhak military cemetery.
