Nachmani, Zvi


Tzvi, son of Nachman and Sarah Nachmani, was born in 1923, in Sereny, Poland. During the Second World War he served in the Polish army. After his parents were exterminated by the Nazis, Tzvi remained alone and in 1943 immigrated to Israel from Russia through Persia. When he arrived in Israel he was a member of the Hagana and served as a guard. In April 1948, at the height of the War of Independence, he was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces. Tzvi fell in the line of duty on 21 Kislev (4.12.1966). He was buried in the IDF military cemetery in Netanya. He left a wife and two children.
