Myers, Gary Allen

Son of Isabel and Bernard, was born on 29.10.1961 in Rhodesia. In his hometown, Gary graduated from elementary school and attended high school. The family immigrated to Israel in 1978, and Gerry completed his studies at the youth farm in Jerusalem, and during his studies he joined the Nahal shalad group, which was supposed to reinforce Kibbutz Gesher Haziv. Gary was drafted into the IDF in mid-January 1980 and was stationed with his comrades in the Nahal Brigade. After basic training, he served for about six months in the battalion, with ongoing security in the north of the country, and was later transferred to the “Hoshaya” Nahal Brigade, where he was a key figure in the Shalad nucleus and his commanders and friends noted him as an outstanding soldier and exemplary member. 16.12.1981) Gary fell in the line of duty and was put to rest at the military cemetery in Ra’anana, leaving his parents and brother.
