Mullah, Rashid

Son of Henia and Ass’ad. Rashid was born in the village of Yirka in 1948, to a family of Druze farmers. The family had a plot of land from which they made a living. Rashid abandoned his studies at an early age in favor of working with his family. The agricultural tradition in Rashid’s family has passed from generation to generation, and the importance of the connection to the land was not only due to the economic aspect, but to the lifestyle. Rashid enlisted in compulsory military service in 1965. He served in unit 300 – a combat unit that engaged in operational activity within the borders of the state, and after two and a half years in 1968, Rasheed was released and after a year and a half in civilian life Rashid decided to return to serve in the security forces. He enlisted in the Border Police and was assigned to the Border Police, where he was assigned to a training course at Beit Horon, where he served as a combat soldier. “Rashid was a brave and disciplined policeman, accepted by his friends and loved by them.” In 1969, Rashid married Bahiya, and some time later On June 3, 1970, during the War of Attrition, Rashid went on a Border Police tour. The tour moves east of the light oasis on the patrol road. Rasheed was a patrol tracker, and he discovered a shoe lying on the side of the road. The shoe was booby-trapped and when he picked it up, a side charge was detonated. Rashid was killed in the explosion. Sergeant Shani Rashid fell in operational activity. He was twenty-two when he fell. He was buried in the cemetery in Yarka. Survived by a wife and son.
