Muchtar, Amar
Son of Nazila and Yosef. Born in the village of Julis on July 1, 1936. He attended elementary school in Kfar Yassif, but was forced to stop his studies to help his parents work the land and support the family. In June 1956, at the age of twenty, Amar volunteered for a career in the Border Police, where he was trained as a combat soldier, and assigned to serve in the Beit Shean area, which at the time was the focus of incidents with the enemy forces. He then moved to serve in another area, where there were even more incidents. Amar married Salwa, and over the years, had six children. In October 1964, he moved to serve in Company B. After the Six-Day War, this company was transferred to Hebron. On December 14, 1968, while on a motorized patrol in the city of Hebron, as a driver, a cross-fire was opened at the patrol force, which consisted of two vehicles. Amar was critically injured in the head, and transferred to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. The next day, December 15, 1968, Amar died of his wounds. He was thirty-two years old when he fell. He was buried in the cemetery in the village of Julis. He was survived by a wife and six children
