Mualem, David

Son of Naima and Avraham. He was born on 26.6.1964 in Moshav Ein Ya’akov in the Western Galilee. He was from a well-to-do agricultural family. He completed his elementary studies at the school in Moshav Ma’ona, near his settlement. David was a sturdy, gentle boy, dedicated to his family and friends. He loved sports and excelled as a football player. He enlisted in the IDF in March 1982. After completing basic training he requested to serve in the Border Police, and he wanted to continue to serve in the army on a permanent basis after his regular service, and his request was met. On 25 Cheshvan (11.11.1982), a gas tank exploded in the military government building in Tire, and the building collapsed and buried its occupants, including David, who was 18 years old. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Nahariya, leaving behind his parents and nine brothers and sisters.
