Mostar, Ralph


Son of Roza and Nathan was born on August 29, 1924 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and attended a high school in the city of Vancouver. During the Second World War he served in the Canadian Air Force and gained extensive experience in aviation. When the invasion of the Arab armies began, with the establishment of the State of Israel, he became interested in taking part in the war of Israel and in the spring of 1948 he arrived in Palestine and joined an armored unit of the Palmach. Ralph, who saw the unit’s meager equipment, took a heavy Browning machine gun from an enemy aircraft. On December 7, 1948, during a trial of a new sea-plane, the plane fell to the Sea of ​​Galilee and Ralph died, and was brought to rest at the Nahalat Yitzhak Military Cemetery.
