Son of David and Tova. He was born in 1925 in the city of Derbani, Romania, and after the Holocaust, the whole family was deported from the city, among the rest of the community. After the liberation of Romania from the Nazis, after years of hard labor, Yaakov succeeded in moving to Italy, where he landed on an illegal immigrant ship to Eretz Israel, but in the struggle with the British he was deported to Cyprus And after prolonged shaking he reached his destination, and after working for a while in the agricultural principle, the War of Independence broke out and he immediately joined the army. He was assigned to a guard unit at the Na’an radio station where he fell ill, and after recovering from his illness he returned to his unit in Na’an, but he did not find it and volunteered for a commando unit. The occupation of Beit-Guvrin and its environs fell during his duty on the last day of Pesach 5704 (April 20, 1949), when the unit was attacked by the enemy during a search and reconnaissance operation. Was brought to eternal rest in a mass grave in the military cemetery in Rehovot.
