Moshe, Jacob (‘Jacob’)


Yaakov ben Moshe and Shoshana. He was born on the 24th of Heshvon, November 18, 1957 in Tel Aviv. At the end of January 1976 he was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces and was assigned to the Artillery Corps, where he underwent a course of artillery commanders, an artillery and advanced training course, and attained the rank of sergeant. A cheerful young man admired by the squad in the cannon battery, he received a trophy and shield from the chief artillery officer. Yaakov always smiling and made others forget their difficulties. His dedication and diligence led him to his rapid advancement until he became commander of his squad. As the commander the crew loved him and obeyed his orders willingly.” On the 27th of Tishrai, October 27th, 1978, he fell in the line of duty. Yaakov was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul and left behind his parents and two sisters.
