Morteza, Eliahu (Karl)
Son of Adele and Heinrich. He was born in Renz, Germany, in 1938. He studied at a school in the city of Koblenz and found a living in clothing trade, and after his marriage he moved to Saarbrücken where the couple had a daughter and a son. He was an active member of the Haganah, and he and his wife Blanka lived a happy marriage and raised their son and daughter, and Eliahu was a traditional man who used to go to the synagogue next to his home every Shabbat and holiday. On 26 Nisan, April 15, 1939, at the end of the bloody riots of 1936-1939, he went as usual with his neighbor Natan Kliger and family to the synagogue. Most of them were killed by two Arab assassins who had been ambushed by them. He was seriously injured and died of his injuries in the hospital, and they had a joint funeral in the Haifa cemetery. He left a wife, a son and a daughter. The events in his memory were published in the press period “Haaretz”, “HaBoker”, and “HaMashkif.”
