Moreno, Saturn


Ben Orit and Zion. He was born on July 26, 1970 in Jerusalem as the third child in the family. Shabtai was named after his grandfather, who passed away three months before his birth. He began his studies at the Maimon religious public school in Kiryat Moshe and continued his high school studies in the “youth camp” with the aim of mechanics. He was active in the Bnei Akiva movement and was an avid sports fan who worked in the fields of running and swimming. Shabtai has a natural joy of life and sensitivity to others. He affected kindness and kindness to all those around him and was able to express a basic respect for all. Prior to his enlistment he volunteered for the Civil Guard. After completing his high school studies in February 1989, he enlisted in regular service in the IDF, volunteering to serve in a combat unit in the Golani Brigade, and wanted to serve the country with all his heart, with love and pride. He did not complain and was very proud to be a part of the Golani community, and he was careful to observe mitzvot, as he did before he was drafted. In the course of his service, he volunteered for the Civil Guard and stood with him Until his last day, when he was in his home on leave, suffered severe stomach pains and was rushed to the hospital and underwent an operation to remove the appendicitis, and a few days later, on the 4th of Adar 5752 (February 1992) Detected by medical staff. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. He was succeeded by his parents and seven brothers – Esther, Isaac, twins – Ronit and Ronen, Jacob and Teumim – Ephraim and Menasheh. The family commemorated him in various synagogues and in the Bnei Akiva branch in Kiryat Moshe, the branch where he worked as a youth.
