Moreno, Isaac
Son of Sarah and Bachor Yaakov. Yitzhak was born in Turkey on July 1, 1932. He graduated from elementary school in Turkey and later studied mechanical mechanics. In his spare time, Isaac practiced boxing and participated in almost every event in this field. In 1949, Yitzhak immigrated to Israel with his family and they settled in the Kiryat Nahum transit camp. Yitzhak joined the IDF and served for two years, after which he married Mazal in 1954. A year later, his daughter Sarah was born, and in January 1955 he joined the Border Police and was transferred to serve as a combat soldier He was later transferred to a unit in the TG Company, which was based in Megiddo, and was later assigned to the Coast Guard unit at the Kinneret base, where he was employed in various security positions and used the professional knowledge of mechanics he acquired when he was a boy. On March 4, 1956, Yitzhak went out with three other policemen to rescue a fishing boat that was caught in a shooting incident with Syrian forces. When they got to the boat all the four cops got shot he was buried in the military cemetery in Haifa, leaving a wife and a daughter, and Yitzhaks name was immortalized in a monument erected in memory of the fallen on the Sea of Galilee guard, At Tzemach Junction.
