Mordekowitz, Julia

Daughter of Tatiana and Roman. Julia was born in Russia on October 25, 1990. A younger sister of Guy (Costa) and a year and a half later Nikola (Nikolai) was born, and grew up in Russia until the age of five. The Ministry of Immigrant Absorption, which aims to assist in the aliyah of children, was sent to separate foster families (Guy to the Mahpod family in Petah Tikva, Julia to the Drori family in Haifa and Nico to the Manchal family in Haifa). Julia stayed in Haifa, began her studies at the Nofim elementary school and went on to junior high school at the Reut School. Julia began her career at ORT but due to many difficulties, Julia decided that she wanted to move to a boarding school and did so.you spent her last years in high school Julia studied at the Miftan Erez school in Herzliya and lived at the Yuvalim boarding school in Kfar Saba. She would come for vacations and weekends, a large part of the vacation Julia would visit her brother’s house so that love was an anchor for life. Juliet had many hobbies, reading books, watching television and computer. And also loved to dance and sing, the music was an inseparable part of it. In addition, Julia loved the kitchen (cooking and pastries), and always stood to the aid of Etty (if the foster family in the past). Later, when Leslie was born (the only home of Nitzan and Eti Drori), the son of Din, Julia treated him with great love, calling him “my prince”. Julia joined the Israel Defense Forces on July 21, 2010. She was assigned to the Navy and served as a security guard at the naval base at Atlit. Julia liked the army and was proud of the media. She was determined to finish a full and dignified service. Yulia fell during her duties on the 12th of Tevet 5771 (19.12.2010) and managed to serve only five months. Julia was twenty years old. At the request of her brother, she was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Petah Tikva, leaving behind two brothers. Her tombstone reads: “Sister to Nico and Guy, we will remember you forever.”
