Son of-Phoebe and Shaul were born on the 16th of Heshvan 5765 (16.11.1964) in Yokne’am. Raphael studied for four years in an elementary school in Yokne’am, and after being referred to a foster family in Acre he continued his studies there. In Acre, he studied at the Rambam Elementary School and graduated from the Kennedy Technical High School in mechanics, and during his studies Rafael joined the Nachshah Nahal group, and until his enlistment he spent some time at Kibbutz Tirat Zvi. Raphael was a disciplined child who respected his family and friends. He loved music and sports, especially swimming. Raphael was drafted into the IDF in early January 1983, and with his comrades in the nucleus he volunteered for the Nahal Brigade. On Sunday, Sivan 5743 (13.5.1983), Raphael fell during his service and was taken to eternal rest in the military cemetery on Haifa’s Carmel Beach, where he was followed by a father, two brothers and two sisters.
