Son of David and Massouda. He was born on March 14, 1938 in the city of Marrakesh, Morocco, where he completed his studies at the “Alliance” elementary school and after graduating he moved to the ORT vocational high school and studied there until the end of his studies. He was a sports instructor and at youth clubs he screened films, and in 1956 the family immigrated to Israel, where he was drafted into the IDF in February 1958, and was later called up for reserve duty from time to time. In the Six Day War Eliahu fought as a rifleman and he returned to battle after illness, because he was an exemplary soldier, disciplined and ready to carry out all his duties. In Moshav Barak, in the Ta’anach region, an enemy air strike fell on the second day of the fighting, on the 27th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967). He left a wife and a daughter-and the wife was pregnant when her husband fell. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Afula and was later transferred to the eternal rest of the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
