Mor-Yosef, Daniel (‘Danny’)


Son of Nissim and Rachel. He was born on April 13, 1957 in Kfar Ata. He studied at the Nitzanim Elementary School in Haifa. After completing his studies at the WIZO boarding school in Haifa, he was a gifted and talented student and had a great success in electrical studies, and he had gold hands when it came to repairing electrical appliances and electronics. In his love of the neighborhood’s children and his desire to help them become a spiritual father, he volunteered to practice them in the various sports fields and did so with great love. He was a sociable boy and gathered around him boys and girls for trips and trips around the country, for sports, chess or any other social-cultural activity. He was cheerful in nature and encouraged his friends, soaking a pleasant and cheerful atmosphere in society and helping anyone in trouble. Danny was a devoted son to his parents, honored and helped them when needed. Despite being the youngest son in the family, he was able to establish deep ties with his brothers and sisters. Danny was drafted into the IDF in March 1975 and assigned to the Artillery Corps. After basic training and after completing a driving course, he was stationed in an artillery unit in southern Israel as a driver. He was a model soldier, and all his commanders and comrades loved him and respected him. On October 4, 1975, Danny died during his service. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. Survived by his parents, two sisters and a brother. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “Private Danny was a good soldier, very disciplined and very orderly, and he always aspired to fulfill the tasks that were bestowed on him.
