Ben Chava and Michael. He was born on 27 March 1975 in Haifa. Aviv was born on Passover, the holiday of spring, so his name was called Aviv. Already in his childhood he was exceptionally beautiful, smiling and welcoming to everyone. When he grew up, he had a strong and determined personality, who excelled in natural and sweeping leadership ability, and at the same time very sensitive. He began his studies at the Tel Hai elementary school, went on to the Ironi Gimel High School, and graduated from the high school in the city of Haifa, where he was drafted into the IDF. Sergeant, served as a platoon sergeant in the auxiliary company, he loved his military service and was proud of everything he did during his army service. He was admired by his subordinates and greatly appreciated by his commanders. Aviv was killed in a battle in Lebanon on Rosh Hashanah, on September 25, 1995, during the ongoing security operations at the Karkom outpost, and was killed by mortars fired at the outpost. After his death Aviv was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant. He was twenty years old when he fell. Aviv was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. Survived by his parents and brother – Kobi. In the battalion commander’s letter to the family, Aviv’s path was marked by his military service, until he became a symbol of the battalion’s mortar division. “In addition to his responsibility as commander and beyond his professionalism, Aviv stood out for the joy of life and the love of his friends. His soldiers had a commander and a friend who knew how to support and help in difficult moments. “
