Monrov, Albert (Abba Hia)


Son of Rivka and Yosef Shalom, was born in 1920 in Russia. Albert was a man of work, a lover of society and life, a Simcha father to son and daughter, Simcha with his lot, sowing joy over his surroundings and head of his party. His friends and acquaintances never questioned his homeland and his father’s house, and defended the suburbs of Tel Aviv with the outbreak of the War of Independence after the UN General Assembly resolution of 29 November 1947. He was a good Jew and a good citizen. On Ovadia Street in Tel Aviv on the ninth of Adar 2 5708 (March 20, 1948). He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak. He was 28 when he fell.
