Son of Goldi and customs, was born on January 1, 1924 in Berlin, the capital of Germany. In his city he attended elementary and high school until he emigrated to the United States in 1936. His departure from Germany was made possible thanks to an American aid company. Until his parents arrived in New York in 1940, he was assisted by relatives. In the years 1939-1943 he studied at a high technical school and graduated with honors as a qualified electrician. In February 1943, he enlisted in the American Army and in July of that year he was transferred to Europe and served as a corporal, and his battalion suffered heavy losses, leaving only fifty men, including him, who volunteered for paratroopers. And was sent back to the United States for a long period of healing, and at the end of his service served as a guard officer in a German POW camp, where he was prepared to immigrate to Eretz Israel and to complete his studies at the Technion in Haifa. He participated in the organization of a youth group that surpassed Onai -mafilim sailed from France and came himself as a student in August 1946. One year attended the Technion in Haifa and the desire to better know the country and joined a kibbutz conditions. At the outbreak of the War of Independence joined the Palmach, served in the “Harel” and sent to the front of Jerusalem.
