Molla, Avraham


Son of Jacqueline and Ezra, he was born on 2.11.1963 in Jaffa. Avraham was the eldest son of a family with many children, who made a very poor living. Avraham, the eldest of the brothers, devoted himself to helping his little brothers. With love he took care of them and devoted a great deal of time to them. Nevertheless, he succeeded in his studies. He successfully completed the Weizmann elementary school in Jaffa, and then continued to study at the Ironi Ziv High School in the Education Campus in Jaffa and graduated with honors in a biological track with a matriculation certificate. In January 1982, Avraham enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces and served in the Armored Corps. He completed several basic training courses and completed a course as a tank driver. Avraham was loved by his commanders and friends for his dedication, peace and good spirit. During the Peace for Galilee War he served with his battalion in the Bekaa Valley. On the 22nd of Elul 5742 (10.9.1982) Avraham was on a tour of his tank near Jabel Baruch. He was attacked by an ambush by terrorists and killed. He was 19 years old when he died. After he was killed, Avraham was promoted to the rank of Corporal. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Holon and left behind a father, a pregnant mother, six brothers and a sister. In a terrorist ambush. Avraham was a reliable soldier, full of motivation, quiet and calm, always with a smile on his lips. The commander of his unit wrote:” Avraham was a tank driver and did his job in the best possible way. He was a quiet, peaceful fellow, always with a smile. Was very attached to his home, and spoke of this connection with his friends.” A reading corner of holy books was established In his name in the synagogue in Neve-Ofer, where his family prays.
