Molecandoff, Aharon (Roni)


Aharon (Roni), son of Dora and Avner, was born on February 7, 1953, in Tel Aviv. He studied at the Zvi Shapira School in Tel Aviv, and then continued to study for two years at the Shevach High School in Tel Aviv, and finally studied for one year at the IAF Technical School in Haifa. Ronny was an alert, playful and intelligent student, and loved by his teachers and friends. He was blessed with intelligence, especially in the field of carpentry, where he completed his studies in high school and worked there before being drafted into the army. He was a member of the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed youth movement, took an active part in all its activities and devoted most of his spare time to it. He was an avid sports enthusiast and excelled in various sports. Ronnie was a cheerful, life-loving boy. He had been able to take full advantage of every moment of his life and to be fond of everything, because of his luminous eyes and his charming smile. He was naturally inquisitive and inquired about the essence of everything that came his way. He was a loyal and devoted son to his parents and was deeply attached to his family. For three years he worked in the “Izbar” nucleus of Hanoar Haoved, where he lived first in Kibbutz Erez, later in the Kalia outpost in the Jordan Valley, and finally in Kibbutz Nahal Oz. The Yom Kippur War broke out two weeks before the end of the course, and he was a dedicated and responsible soldier and was very fond of his commanders and comrades-in-arms, who nicknamed him “Ziggy.” During the course of the Yom Kippur War, During his entire army service, he tried not to worry his parents, and was careful to keep letters and telephone contact with the house in order to prevent the concern of his family. He was sent to the Golan Heights, where he took part in the battles against the Syrians on October 6, 1973. He was wounded in the battle in Tel-Jukhder and was killed. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by father, mother, sister and brother. After his fall, he was promoted to sergeant. His parents donated a Torah scroll to his memory
