Moise (Moshe), Yosef (Yoske)


Yosef (Yoske), son of Czerna and Bojm, was born on April 13, 1940 in Baku, Romania, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1961. Yosef was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in mid-December 1963 and assigned to the Armored Corps. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, Yosef was drafted and sent with his unit to the front in Sinai. After 18 days of fighting, on the 30th of Tishrei 5734 (25.10.1973), Yosef was killed and brought to rest in the cemetery in Dimona, leaving a wife, two sons and two daughters, parents, two brothers and four sisters. His little daughter was born after he fell and bears his name Yosefa, and after his fall he was promoted to the rank of corporal.
