Mizrahi, Yosef (“Yossi”)


Son of Moshe and Esther. He was born on 27.6.1955 in Jerusalem and studied at the Katznelson Elementary School and later at the ORT vocational high school, with a mechanical framework program Yossi Toled-Tov, He was surrounded by many friends and friends, who had strong friendships and had a loyal and true friend, and when he was in high school, he joined the Beitar youth movement and was a devoted pupil who took part in many activities within the movement. He was devoted to his family and with him spent all his spare time. Yossi was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of May 1973 and assigned to the Armored Corps. After basic training he was trained as a tank driver and assigned to an armored unit in the Southern Command. He was a dedicated and disciplined soldier who devotedly and devotedly obeyed all the tasks assigned to him. During the Yom Kippur War he took part in the battles of containment and infiltration against the Egyptian enemy in Sinai. After the war ended, during operational activity in the Sinai, Yossi showed courage when he rescued a tank that was about to ignite and moved him away from danger. On the 29th of Sivan 5735 (June 8, 1919), in the month that Joseph was 20 years old, he fell in the line of duty. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Survived by his parents, and three brothers. After his death he was promoted to sergeant. In a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote: “In the course of his job he showed dedication, diligence and exemplary willingness, and in the framework of the unit he stood out in good behavior and in the companies he liked among all the soldiers and commanders.” His parents contributed to the commemoration of his memory in a synagogue in Jerusalem.
